THIS IS ME

Doing things differently
is one of my favourite pastimes.

Another favourite?

HELPING YOU.

Each and every one of us is coded differently – that’s our DNA.
So, it’s only natural that our approaches to business are different too.

But what exactly is it that I do?

I help to cultivate community, simplicity, sustainability, balance, and grace for women in business through virtual assistant services, gentle mentoring, workshops, and resources.

I’m an advocate and supporter for
women (in business) who aren’t afraid
to challenge the status quo.

OH LOOK, IT’S ME

THE AWKWARD PART

I’m a natural storyteller, a lover of words, and could probably talk under water with a mouthful of marbles. The key words there are could and probably. Because let’s face it, we both know it won’t really happen.

Despite my love of storytelling and words, I find it really difficult to talk about myself, anything I’ve achieved in life, and what I want to succeed at/in/with. Wish me luck as I attempt to do just that below, and not at all in the third person.

Hi, I’m Hollie Barac, and I love planning and organisation. It was this love of planning and organisation that sees me here, helping you understand, create, and honour your capacity.
And truthfully it wasn’t something I set out to do, but here I am.

The thing I do best is help women in business honour their capacity, minus conformity. I’ll be beside you every step of the way, bringing an extra dash of tenacity as you find the life/work groove that’s right for you.

If you’re looking for someone to help you along the way without putting you into a box, you’ve found me.

Seeing you succeed is pretty much why I do what I do.
Okay, maybe seeing my daughter do awesome things brings me just a little bit more joy, but when it comes to business, seeing you dream the thing, do the thing, and achieve the thing – that’s a brilliant feeling.
Your success gives me goosebumps and butterflies, usually all at once.

LET’S GET

personal

So, you know I haven’t always been a capacity advocate, but how exactly did I get to be where I am?

I’ve been working for over half of my life, and I’m not yet 40. Sure, there’s been small periods here and there when I’ve not been gainfully employed, but during that time I was getting myself a university education, as well as a few qualifications, plus life experience.

Here’s the official qualifications that give me the knowledge and (learned)
experience to do what I do:

Cert. III in Business Administration
Cert. III in Retail Management
Cert. II in Microbusiness
B. Urban and Regional Planning (Hons.)

But I’m so much more than the pieces of paper.

I’ve worked in corporate (IT, banking, accounting and finance), retail (supermarket), hospitality (fast food and restaurants), government, and I’ve been self-employed on and off since I was 19 (I sold Tupperware for about five years from age 19…don’t hold it against me!).

All of that since I was 15½ years old. It’s been a long, and sometimes bumpy, road but it’s the road that brought me here to you, and I wouldn’t change a thing.

Of course, I’m not all work, work, work.

When I’m not working, I’m mum to an amazing, rambunctious girl, and I’m wife to a clinical trials co-ordinator.

Cooking is not my forte, but I’ll bake and decorate at any opportunity.

I am quite partial to ice cream, even better if it’s dairy-free.

If you need to pour me a beverage, I’ll mostly have a glass of water (straight from the tap).
Sometimes I’ll fancy a herbal tea (either lemon and ginger with a teaspoon of honey, or peppermint). And if I’m out for a bit of fun, you can serve me any of the following: gin and tonic (or just gin, neat), vodka (neat, or with lemon, lime and bitters), mojito, tequila (neat or sunrise), or a glass of Moscato.

Other things I love include diving headfirst into water (no point in inching in, it’s all or nothing!), squishing the sand beneath my toes, a good rom-com or drama, and just trying to enjoy life as much as possible.

I am incredibly grateful to and acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation for the privilege of being custodian of the wonderous land I live, work, and play upon.

To the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation, the traditional owners of the land I was born and lived upon for 25 years, and return to often, thank you for sharing your beautiful country.

I pay my respects to their Elders past, present, and emerging, and extend that respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander  people, and their continuing connections to land, sea, and community.

I acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded and that the land always was, and always will be, Aboriginal Land.
